14. Visit Three Cities I've never been to - Part 1

Hey y'all,

Wow, I haven't posted in almost three weeks! Sorry about that. Seriously, October and November are turning out to be the busiest months of this year for me. I have been and am working on one of my biggest thirty by thirty items and was out of town working on that and for work for three weeks straight. I hope to be able to report successes soon!

While working on this item, I actually ended up in a city that I've never visited - Atlanta! Although I didn't have much time to see the sights, I DID get to go to dinner with one of my awesome cousins and a good friend from grade school! I normally get to see both of them once or twice a year, so it was a lot of fun to see them and catch up!

If you are around me when the Olympics are on, you know that I'm obsessed. So when I found out that I was going to Atlanta, I immediately thought, "1996 Olympics!" Honestly though, if you weren't looking for it, you would never know the Olympics were ever in Atlanta. It brought the city some massive growth, but the only items that really stand out as "Olympic" are Centennial Park, a gateway over a street that has the Olympic symbol and the torch tower, which can be seen from the highway . I was looking for a gas station on my way to the airport and happened to get off by Turner Field (home of the Atlanta Braves) and all the sudden, I saw this:

Apparently in my Olympic obsession, I missed the memo that Turner Field was the Olympic Stadium. I REALLY want to go to an Olympic Games in the future (this is on my big bucket list), but it was cool to see anyway.

Side note: we had a pretty busy weekend this weekend and Cash crashed this afternoon after all of the playing he did. We went for a good run, he went swimming, AND he got to take a nap with me in our bed (it's possible that we don't allow him on our bed....and I might have put him on it anyway because I missed him while I was gone and wanted to snuggle). He also got to see both sets of his grandparents and one of his uncles and his aunt. Spoiled, spoiled boy.

Hope y'all have a good week!

Until next time,
