Hey There 2015!

Hey y'all!

Happy New Year to you and your family! 2014 went by insanely fast! I'm sitting here thinking of everything that we did in 2014, and the list is pretty long! Because of that, I have some pretty high expectations for 2015! You know my 30 by 30 list that I've been working on? I'm hoping to make a HUGE dent in it! Check out the items I'm hoping to cross off my list!
  • Go skydiving - My mom has committed to doing this with me this summer! (It's blog official, no backing out now!) I'm SO excited! 
  • Run a 1/2 marathon - I'm running in the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon in February and may do another one in the fall (depending if I want to die or not after the one this spring).
  • Read another 20+ books (I might need to up that number though. You might remember from this post that I read over 100 books in 2014!)
  • Pass the CPA exam - Two down, two to go! I'm planning to get this one done as soon as possible!
  • See New York City at Christmas - Ryan and I are planning to go next December! I can't WAIT to see the city at Christmastime. (Yes, I am aware they haven't even taken down this year's tree. Don't you steal my thunder on this! It's perfectly acceptable to count down for an entire year).
  • Go to a Houston Texans football game - Ryan and I are planning to make this one happen next fall! How awesome would it be if we got to knock out another one of my items and meet my favorite NFL player (J.J. Watt) at the same time?!? My chances are slim, but we will try!
  • Obtain my concealed carry license
  • Plant a tree and watch it grow - Since we live in a relatively new neighborhood, there aren't many trees around! I would love to plant a fruit tree! Now to research what kinds will grow in Oklahoma!
  • Lose 50 pounds - Yeah, I said it. It's going to happen. A lot of changes are going to have to take place to make this possible. The biggest one is that I gave up root beer. COMPLETELY. No more sugary pop for this girl. Every time I want a root beer, I have drank (and plan to continue to drink) a huge glass of water. It's amazing that I'm not floating away yet! I've already lost some weight, but I have quite a ways to go!
  • Plan & host a party - Ryan and I have a few friends who are having babies or weddings in 2015 and we are planning to host/co-host showers for a couple of them! 
  • Volunteer with an organization that means something to me - I love the Girl Scouts and was a member all through school. I am trying to figure out the best way to get involved with them!
You never know, I might knock even more than this off my list, but I think this is more an acceptable starting point! 

I have a few goals/resolutions that aren't on my 30 by 30 list that I want to share too! 
  • As mentioned above, I gave up root beer. I gave up caffeine and diet coke about a year and a half ago and somewhere along the line I started drinking root beer (lots of sugar, but no caffeine). This is definitely a mind over matter thing! 
  • Get to know more people at the church I've started attending a couple of months ago (Church on the Move). I really love it and I'm looking forward to getting to know more people this year! 
  • Learn even more about how to utilize essential oils! I have truly loved getting to learn more about them and I know there are SO many things that oils can be used for that I haven't even touched yet! 
  • Keep up with this blog! I've had so much fun sharing parts of our life with you and am looking forward to continuing that!
