Hi! I'm Madalene (most people pronounce it Mad-uh-lynn, but I answer to whatever sounds close). I'm an Oklahoma girl, born and raised, working in the world of public accounting. I married the most awesome guy I've ever met (Hi, Ryan!) in December 2013 and we are enjoying life as newlyweds (at what point are we no longer "newlyweds?").
Although a true Oklahoman, I decided that I wanted to go away to college. I looked near and far, and decided on the University of Arkansas. Whew, that was the best decision EVER. I met some of my best friends there and literally wouldn't give up the experiences that I had at Arkansas for anything in the world. I also came back with the word "y'all" as a permanent part of my vocabulary (both verbal and written, so get used to seeing it!).
I'm the oldest of three "kids." I have two younger brothers and now am also very blessed to have an awesome sister-in-law.We like to do this "sorority pose" lean thing when we take pictures....I like to think we do it well.
I work at a public accounting firm in Tulsa and absolutely love it. Yes, I'm a nerd. No, I don't care. We work hard, but also like to go jump on trampolines and can own a good happy hour.
In 2013, Ryan and I decided to build a house in a suburb of Tulsa. That experience was MIND BLOWING. I'm happy we did it and we love our home, but holy moly, building a house (well designing a house) is a lot of work! Look for lots of "around the house" posts!
People tell me on a regular basis that I'm the busiest person they know. I'm going to take that as a compliment and hopefully you will enjoy reading about some of the craziness that is our life.
